HOW TO ENROLL Enrollment paperwork may be picked up at the Academy office. A $100 registration is due when the student enrolls. This fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable. This fee covers application processing, testing programs, and will hold the students place until the first months tuition is due During the spring enrollment period between March 1 and July 15 a $25 discount will be given to those who enroll early. Students enrolling in grades 1-12 must take a placement test in reading, math, and language before enrollment is complete. Upon verification, this test may be waived for high school students who have successfully passed those portions of the Alabama High School Exit Exam. Students enrolling in the Kindergarten 4-year old program must be 4 by August 1. Kindergarten students must be age 5 by September 1. Other grade placements will be based on official transcripts and placement test scores WHEN DOES SCHOOL BEGIN? School begins in August for K4 through 12th grade. Calendars for the school year will be available in May. Students may arrive and be dropped off at 7:30. Classes begin at 8:00 and end at 3:00. A before and after care program is offered for students who need to be dropped off between 6:45 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. or those who need to be picked up between 3:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. COLLEGE PLANNING Scottsboro Christian Academy encourages all of its high school students to prepare early for college. 9th through 11th grade students are asked to take the PSAT test. This test is used to determine National Merit Scholarship winners. Students at SCA also can begin taking the college ACT test in October of their 11th grade year. This test is an entrance requirement of most colleges and universities and is used to determine academic scholarships. Scholarship information and assistance in filling out paper work for scholarship applications are given to 11th and 12th grade students. Students at our school have been awarded academic scholarships to Northeast State Community College. WHAT IS THE COST? it depends on the grade level, how many used books we have and if we have to order all new books because they've changed curriculumn.
